Vue — The Progressive JavaScript Framework
Tech Catalog / vue.html
A framework for building UIs from components, adopting features only as needed. Its shallow learning curve makes it a common first framework.
💬 Vue assembles a UI from small components.
You can add a little behavior to existing HTML, or build a whole app as it grows — with the same tool. Reading the official Introduction chapter first gives you the mental model.
- Components: bundle a piece of UI into a reusable .vue file.
- Reactivity: when data changes, the view updates automatically.
- SFC: template, script, and style in a single file.
Getting started
# Requires Node.js 20+
npm create vue@latest my-app
cd my-app
npm install
npm run dev # http://localhost:5173
Smallest component
<script setup>
import { ref } from 'vue'
const count = ref(0)
</script>
<template>
<button @click="count++">{{ count }}</button>
</template>
Common problems
- npm create vue fails: usually an old Node version. Check
node -vis 20+. - A value is not reactive: access a
refvia.value(automatic inside a template).
